CLARISSA

CLARISSA: In Bangladesh, Tdh led the FCDO-funded CLARISSA (Child Labour Action-Research-Innovation in South and Southeastern Asia) consortium from July 2019 to March 2024, with a grant size of 914,607 CHF. The project focused on addressing the Worst Forms of Child Labour (WFCL) in Bangladesh, particularly in Dhaka’s North Gojmohol neighbourhood and Nepal. Tdh’s role included conducting participatory research to analyze 404 life stories of working children and developing 13 action research groups focused on children’s advocacy initiatives. Tdh also designed and implemented social protection cash-plus interventions and complaint feedback mechanisms, benefiting 8,000 participants. The project successfully developed context-appropriate solutions with children and families, reducing hazardous exploitative labor, improving child well-being, and raising awareness of child protection issues within the Gojmohol community.
